Sarah Cavallaro

Sarah Cavallaro, former founder, president, and executive producer of Emerald Films has built a distinguished career spanning 25 years in international TV commercial production. Her work with leading American, Canadian, and European filmmakers has earned numerous prestigious accolades, including the Mobius and Clio Award for iconic brands such as Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Ford, Arby’s, Budweiser, and many other Fortune 500 companies.

 

After an impressive tenure in TV commercial production, Sarah transitioned Emerald Films to focus on producing social impact art installations, collaborating with world-renowned artist and filmmaker Cosimo Cavallaro. Cheese House, Twiggy in Cheese, Chocolate Jesus- My Sweet Lord, Absolute Pressed Ham, Cheese Wall on the Border, Cheese Hotel Room 114 and Chocolate Jesus Melts. She also directed a short documentary titled Absolute Pressed Ham, based on the art installation of the same name. The film was a finalist at Silver Docs AFI.​

Sarah is also an award-winning author. Her indie-published novel, Dogs Have Angels Too, won an Indie Reader Discovery Award for Best in Women’s Fiction. She later adapted the novel into a feature-length screenplay titled Miss Pink. She recently completed a new adult novel, Lean into the Curve about lost love, messy relationships and healing trauma through motorcycle riding. In addition to her novels and screenwriting, Sarah’s poetry and short stories have been published in numerous anthologies and literary outlets, including Spring Street Press, Lipstick Pages, Shampoo, Mom Egg Press, Gold Wake Press, Sage Trail Press, and Uncut Magazines. Her work often explores themes of transformation, self-empowerment, and change. Sarah has also written two stage plays, Keeping Athenia and Between the Juice and the Eggs, which have been workshopped at several prominent New York City theatrical venues, including the prestigious Actors Studio Directors/Writers Lab. Currently, Sarah is developing a scripted TV drama series titled WHACK, chronicling the artistic, romantic, political, and culinary exploits of renowned pop culture artist Cosimo Cavallaro’s large-scale public installations.

 

In addition, Sarah is the co-director and founder of Art Above Ground, a successful nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting provocative, interactive, and inclusive public art installations worldwide. Sarah holds a BA in Social Work from Antioch College and an MA in Criminal Justice from John Jay Graduate School of Criminology. She divides her time between Los Angeles and New York City.
